Nathan and Yuylia | Art Gallery Wedding Photographer - Philadelphia PA

Nathan and Yulia planned their intimate wedding for a Sunday at the LG Tripp Art Gallery located in Old City.  It was perfect, the setting, the decorations,  (provided by some outstanding photographers and the LG Tripp Gallery, you know…Art) and the music.  Then after they said “I do” it was off to Tiffin for some Indian food!  It was all pretty perfect. The only thing not there was Yuliya’s family, but rest assured all that will be different when round two of Nathan and Yulia’s wedding goes down this coming summer in Ukraine.  It’ll be a proper celebration for Nathan and Yuliya and I can’t wait!

I LOVE this ring shot! These works of Art are SOLD!

Found this chalked Love sign outside the LG Tripp gallery on my way to Tiffin.  How fitting.

Fresh Artists Installs some fresh art work at Research in Action | Philadelphia Photographer

Over the years I’ve had the great fortune to work with the wonderful organization Fresh Artists, started by Barbara Allen (I must tell you that Barbara recently won the Purpose Prize) and her son Roger Allen who is a fantastic designer.  I first got to know Barbara and Roger through the hands down, best architectural photographer Jeffrey Totaro, with whom I’ve worked with for quite a while now.  Over the years Jeffrey and I have photographed all the kid’s art work for Fresh Artists so they are able to make large copies of these awesome works of art made by kids!

Well, since my relationship with Fresh Artists has blossomed in recent times they have invited me along to be a part of yet another fun process for in their amazing organization, to be on their installation team.  and below are a few photos of Roger and I from Fresh Artist’s latest (my second) installation at the organization Research for Action located in our lovely large town of Philadelphia.  We installed about 20 pieces the walls of Research for Action and it was great to see the employees faces light up with excitement and joy as we continued bringing some office cheer with original works of art created by kids.

This is as serious as we get folks.  It’s always a great time working with Roger and Barbara.

Ok, maybe this is a bit more serious.

But getting serious about installing art is important.  You need to get in the zone and in order to do that I had to put on a red head band.

Last but not least let me say that when you experience the incredible hope that Fresh Artists provides for so many children it makes me extremely proud to be apart of even a little bit of the things they are doing.  I could write for ever about the things they’re doing and even how they have changed my life but I’ll leave you with the fact that they have changed my life and that you should let them change yours too.  Start by visiting their website below.

One of 20 local artists featured in the ENDANGEREDCITY show | This Friday, December 10th, 7 - 10 pm at Globe Dye Works | Philadelphia Photographer

I’m going to be famous-er than I am now! I’m not very famous.  Well, at least you’re reading this, so that matters a great deal to me.  This Friday, December 10th I will be featured in the ENDANGEREDCITY show at the Globe Dye Works located at 4500 Worth St. Philadelphia PA 19124.  I will be one of 20 local Philly artists in the show so come out and celebrate the artists and get behind the reason for this show.  Wait, you don’t know the reason for the show?  Maybe some sponsors like El Camino Real, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Bar Ferdinand, PYT Restaurant and Jacquins Flavored Vodka will drag you off your couch this Friday if the art can’t.  Or you can read more about the show below.
ENDANGEREDCITY celebrates the inspiration that can be found in Philadelphia’s physical history. Artworks of various media by local artists will be on display and for sale via silent auction. The event is produced in partnership with the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia and 50% of proceeds will be donated to their Advocacy Fund. Food and drink will be sponsored by Jaquin’s, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Bar Ferdinand, and El Camino Real. ENDANGEREDCITY is produced by GEDŌ, a new non-profit arts and advocacy organization.

Thinking about attending?

Make it official on good old blue and white… Facebook.

Check out the press release for the show.

See you there.

Sarah and James | Philadelphia Portrait Photographer

A real smile cannot be forced by a “1, 2, 3… Cheese!” or just anyone with a camera.  Beyond that cheesey smile is as certain smile that we’re all looking to capture. It’s is a smile that shines through when you’re with the that one person who can make your face explode in a huge smile.  I remember seeing those smiles about two years ago when I first photographed James and Sarah for their wedding.  It’s really great to see that after two years those smiles have only gotten bigger.

The local crew of kids trying not to get hit with paint balls.  Oh yeah, did I mention there was a serious game of paint ball going on around us?  Well, thats not the only thing.  There were guys on dirt bikes and quads too!

These are those smiles, maybe you don’t know what I’m talking about.  But it’s a deep deep love that comes out in that certain smile and it says so much more than just a happy expression.

Yep, here they are again.

Shazam! The stuff dreams are made of :)

Nathan and Yuliya are engaged! | Philadelphia engagement photographer

With out further delay I give you Nathan and Yuliya!  This was a really fun shoot and I think that comes across in the love they share in these few photos.  Take a minute to watch the second photo (an animation that was fun to watch unfold) it’ll warm your heart on these late fall days.  I also have to say that I’m seeing a trend away from diamond engagement rings to all sorts of rings that are pretty awesome.  I think Nathan and Yuliya have really nice taste with their selection.  Ooooh LA LA!
