Whats new

I recently moved in to New office / Studio / Gallery space and I'm super pumped about it. We had an in house artist gallery show. Check out the happenings below. There is talk of showing the kid's photographs from Peru in the near future. Stay tuned and keep in touch.

It snowed. These are the people I met.

I’ll be posting some shots from people I met while roaming around Fishtown after our 26″ dumping of snow.  I met people looking for permanent homes for dogs they’re fostering, people tearing around on quads, and a few others too.  Here’s a starter, a pretty dusk shot.

The power of the Light

Keeping up with photos from the neighborhood and just shooting because it’s fun. I made this photograph on my iphone months back and I’ve been trying to get a decent shot with a better camera. Mission accomplished.

Industrial grit - the finale

What should I post next? These industrial photographs were all taken with in one hour. To get five good photographs in one hour and create a series isn’t easy. Especially, if they are all in the same room. These photographs were an exception, but it’s a good format for finding new things to shoot and creating some mini series’. Anyone have any ideas?

Industrial grit - day four

Old signs are great subjects. Just make sure you get the permission from your electrician.

Industrial grit - hump day for this series

Symmetry is another element of composition which I love. I’d also add that I’m just a huge fan of great composition.  This one isn’t perfectly symmetric but really what is?

Industrial grit - day two

Did I also mention I really like making photographs that are hard to tell what the subject is? I think they’re my favorite way to shoot artistic photographs. Edward Weston is really well known for his photographs of vegetables, or most notably his pepper photograph which looks nothing like a pepper.

Four easy steps on how to get a wife

Step one: If you’re a man of the hunting gathering type, this should be self explanatory. If not, follow the photograph steps below.

Step two: Show her a bit of love. While you can’t see the love inside the box pictured below, you know you can feel it.

Step three: Wait for the right time pop the question and make her yours.

Step four: Get married and celebrate that love! (hint: I like photographing weddings)

Ok, so maybe it’s not that easy. Trust me. I know. But this sequence of photos showing off a different “ring shot” is a small example of the way I like to shoot weddings. Fun and creative. And remember I can’t do it without you. So get married.

Industrial grit

For the next five days there will be one industrial black and white photograph each day. I’m a big fan of geometric elements, as well as a big fan of old run down industrial looking things. Starting today off with this one. all were shot in one room with in one hour. The following five days are the five best.

Light spectacular at Longwood Gardens. Kristin is also spectacular.

I was walking along and saw this tree covered in spectacular lights so I told Kristin to hop in there. I love this shot. I might add that it was like 0 degrees out with the wind chill when we went to see the lights at Longwood Gardens. We had such a fantastic time that we decided to become members! Yeeeeehaw! Still looking forward to summer. I hand held this shot. Can I just say how much I love the Canon 5D mk2? Well…  I love it.

Death of a Pet… somewhere

Some kid in Fishtown is really sad. Let’s have a moment of silence.
