Part Timers are all the timers

A few months back while shooting some work in the studio we captured and shot (that sounds so awesomely odd in a bad way but good way) a few Part Time Studio members. It’s rare that many of us were at the studio since many of us work more than one job (hence the name Part Time Studios).  But since everyone was in the house we busted out some portraits.  On a side note, we’re sad to say goodbye to Lydia Trott. We’ll miss you and your loom.

Desirae and Joe are married | Philadelphia wedding photographer

Desirae and Joe’s wedding was stupendous! They got hitched at St. Anthony’s of Padua in Wilmington DE,  photographed at Swarthmoore College and partied all night at the Springfield Country club in Springfield PA! I know Jeff Wojtaszek and I had a great time spending the day with them and we’re really pleased to show off their fantastic photos.  It was such a great time and The JIHM Booth was there shooting all their hilarious photos at the reception to add to an already really awesome day. Check out these pics and get your scroll on!

Exhibiting Fishtown photographs, June, 4th at Artspace Liberti

Be sure to make your way to Artspace Liberti located at 2424 Studios (2424 East York Street 19125).  The show is titled “Inside Outside” and will feature the photography of Mark Havens and myself. Click here to read more about the show.

It snowed. These are the people I met.

I’ll be posting some shots from people I met while roaming around Fishtown after our 26″ dumping of snow.  I met people looking for permanent homes for dogs they’re fostering, people tearing around on quads, and a few others too.  Here’s a starter, a pretty dusk shot.

The power of the Light

Keeping up with photos from the neighborhood and just shooting because it’s fun. I made this photograph on my iphone months back and I’ve been trying to get a decent shot with a better camera. Mission accomplished.

Death of a Pet… somewhere

Some kid in Fishtown is really sad. Let’s have a moment of silence.

I love Fishtown

Home Sweet Home Baby!  This photo isn’t the front of  my house, but it is in my neighborhood and I love it.  It’s crazy here.  There is such a mix of people here.  And those people’s houses reflect who they are. Fishtown is mutli-generational where people’s entire families live here,  it’s hipster,  artsy,  dirty, old,  new, trendy,  scary and just perfect.  Walk around, come see for yourself.

Making your own place in life

It’s been a while since I last wondered around to shoot photos of Fishtown. In the past I’ve typically done this with Murphy my black lab. It was easy to shoot pictures of the neighborhood I live in when I had to walk my dog. It was simple, I just brought my camera with me and I had a dog to protect me or fend off any people who might want my camera for themselves.

So now that my commute to work is only a ten minute walk and I no longer have Murphy, I’ve decided to continue my Fishtown photos. I really enjoy wondering around shooting photos of anything (I mean, isn’t that how most people get started in photography?), but lately or the past few years I’ve been fixated on buildings and the shapes they contain, make up or just are. It’s my personal work. I no longer have Murphy to walk or fend of those camera wanting folks, but I’ve really missed not shooting these photos. So I am continuing with my Fishtown photos. Take a gander.

Beautiful Arequipa

One of the great things about Arequipa is its constant deep blue sky and the surrounding mountains. This speaks for itself. To see a more detailed view of this panorama (be sure to zoom in) click here. I’m sure going to miss the Summer in the south while I’m freezing here in Philly.
